Ruth K. Makau is a finance and investment professional with experience in project finance,
financial modelling, investment analysis, and transaction advisory. Throughout her career, she
has supported projects and businesses across renewable energy, infrastructure, real estate, and
other investment sectors, providing financial insights to support investment decisions, project
viability, and capital raising.

Before joining the team, Ruth served as a Financial Analyst at Horizon Africa Capital, where she
worked extensively on renewable energy projects, including wind, solar, and hydropower
developments. Her responsibilities included developing and managing financial models,
conducting project feasibility and investment analysis, assessing project returns, supporting tariff
optimisation, and preparing financial and technical reports for stakeholders. She also previously
worked in transaction advisory and corporate finance roles, where she gained experience in
financial modelling, business valuation, due diligence, deal origination, investor materials, and
capital-raising support.

She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Financial Engineering from Jomo Kenyatta University
of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Intermediate
Level student.

Noah Kipkemboi is a seasoned Kenyan journalist with nearly a decade of experience shaping business narratives across East Africa’s media landscape. Brian Tanui, CFA, is a finance and investments specialist with over eight years of experience across investment banking, asset management, and corporate advisory in Europe and Africa. He holds an MBA from the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management and is a CFA charterholder. He currently serves as Finance & Investments Consultant at Osprey Company Limited, advising on capital structure optimization, financial modelling, and M&A transactions across the DACH and East Africa regions.

Previously, Brian was the Equities Dealer and Head of Derivatives at AIB-AXYS Africa, where he led institutional deal sourcing, built an alternative investments department, and conceptualized a derivatives market-making joint venture with the Nairobi Securities Exchange. His earlier career included roles as a Group Business Analyst at KAAB Investments and a Financial Markets Analyst at Futures First Kenya, trading commodity futures on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange. He combines strong technical skills with extensive experience to create unique financial products and solutions for the firm’s clients.

William Baloni Ngumbao is passionate about global macroeconomics, financial markets, investment research, and data-driven financial analysis. A Bachelor of Science in Financial Engineering graduate with FMVA and BIDA certifications, as well as an ALX Data Science certification, he has developed a strong foundation in financial analysis, valuation, financial modelling, quantitative methods, and data science. Branden demonstrates strong technical competency in financial analysis, valuation, and budget modeling, with practical exposure to investment processes and multi-stakeholder collaboration. He is analytical, detail-oriented, and committed to supporting investment decision-making through rigorous financial analysis and clear reporting.

Benson Irungu is a corporate finance and transaction advisory professional with experience in M&A, sustainable finance, financial due diligence, valuation, financial modelling, capital raising and strategic advisory across emerging markets.

Prior to joining Rock Investment Bank, he gained experience at KPMG East Africa and PwC Kenya, advising on complex transactions across financial services, renewable energy, telecommunications, manufacturing, agriculture, healthcare and consumer sectors. His cross-border experience spans Sub-Saharan Africa, Latin America and Southeast Asia, providing broad exposure to transactions and investment opportunities across emerging markets.

His experience also includes supporting the consolidation of Kenya’s Coca-Cola bottling companies into CCBK and working within the Value Creation Office on a global SME Ventures value creation programme focused on emerging markets globally.

He is a Certified Investment and Financial Analyst by the ICIFA body and holds a Bachelor of Economics Degree from Kenyatta University. He brings strong analytical capabilities, transaction experience and a passion for helping businesses and investors unlock value across emerging markets.
