GRADUATE TRAINEE PROGRAM

My time at Rock Investment Bank was exciting and the team being supportive pushed me to level up through structured learning. I gained expertise on the ability to tell a story through financial data of a company through preparation of earnings note while incorporating financial modeling on excel to forecast different scenarios and get even deeper insights. Day-to-day with the research team in preparation of daily reports and company reports by digging into the company reports and identifying the real value, performance drivers and the macro environment that they operate in to help clients and internal teams make informed investment decisions. Grateful to be part of the incredible team.

My experience as a graduate trainee at Rock has been nothing short of amazing. It provided me with an opportunity to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and the market realities, not to mention the team and their invaluable mentorship which equipped me with great exposure and a solid foundation for a successful career.

Over the past three months as a graduate trainee at RIB, I’ve moved from green to grounded on matters investment banking. I’ve had the privilege of building practical front-to-back foundation in the field, from simple data entry (for banks, companies and investment banks), to managing investor pipelines, preparing daily market rockers reports on NSE companies’ performance, doing macros, conducting bank and company analysis and developing three-statement financial models. I’ve had the chance to learn how to use the Bloomberg terminal for analysis and also for doing my daily market Rocker’s report. Really grateful for the opportunity.

While my technical skills have seen a steady evolutionary climb, the fast-paced growth I've experienced here at Rock has been nothing short of revolutionary. Whether I was deconstructing credit risk or mapping out how a plant expansion hits the cash flow, the focus is always on technical mastery and structural fluency.

My three-month experience at Rock Investment Bank was highly rewarding, providing exposure across multiple departments, with a focus on Research and Advisory; the firm’s core business areas. In Advisory, I gained hands-on experience in deal sourcing, investor pipeline development, and managing transactions through to closing, while in Research, I developed skills in client intelligence, due diligence, market analysis, and financial modelling. Overall, the experience significantly strengthened my technical capabilities and added meaningful value to my career growth.

My experience during the three-month Graduate Trainee Program was highly educative and rewarding, equipping me with practical skills in market research and financial modelling. I gained hands-on experience analyzing macroeconomic factors such as CBR and inflation trends, as well as preparing Rock Daily reports from the Market Watch data. Overall, the program strengthened my technical and analytical abilities. I am grateful to Rock Investment Bank and its management for the opportunity.
